ACECO Demolition Files Explosive EPA Grievance, Accusing Trump of Concealing Asbestos in East Wing and Endangering Workers While Still Withholding Payment

ACECO Demolition Company has escalated its battle with former President Donald Trump and his team, filing a formal grievance with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) after alleging that the White House East Wing—recently demolished under their contract—contained asbestos and other carcinogenic materials that were never disclosed to the contractors before the project began.

According to the grievance, ACECO claims that Trump’s representatives failed to notify the demolition crew that the East Wing was structurally integrated with older components of the White House, many of which were known to contain legacy asbestos and other hazardous materials. The company argues that this omission not only violated federal safety disclosure standards but also placed their workers directly in harm’s way.

A “Gross Negligence” Allegation

In the complaint, ACECO states that Trump’s agents either knew or should have known about the presence of asbestos—common in older federal buildings—and were legally obligated to disclose such risks before demolition began. Instead, ACECO alleges they were left to discover the carcinogens mid-demolition, forcing emergency safety adjustments and exposing workers to potentially toxic materials.

Company representatives described the situation as “gross negligence disguised as oversight.”

Workers Exposed, Safety Protocols Disrupted

ACECO’s grievance details multiple instances where crew members were allegedly subjected to airborne contaminants due to insufficient warnings about hazardous structural materials. The company claims that proper preparation—specialized suits, respirators, and pre-demolition containment measures—was impossible because they were never informed about the need for them.

One ACECO supervisor reportedly stated that “the crew was blindsided by contamination risks that should have been flagged from day one.”

Payment Dispute Adds Fuel to the Fire

Adding to the tension, ACECO says Trump has still not paid the remaining balance owed for the East Wing demolition. According to internal documentation referenced in the complaint, the company incurred additional costs from emergency mitigation measures once the asbestos was discovered. These unexpected expenses, they argue, were a direct result of Trump’s team’s failure to disclose known hazards.
